Frequently Asked Questions

Where is Berg Water Sourced

Berg’s iceberg water is sourced from Iceberg Alley, the legendary stretch of North Atlantic along the coast of Newfoundland & Labrador, Canada. Each year, ancient icebergs travel south from Greenland and the Canadian Arctic, carried by ocean currents past our rugged coastline, where the ice used to craft Berg is carefully harvested.

How old is the iceberg water?

The icebergs used to craft Berg are estimated to contain ice formed approximately 15,000 years ago, during a time long before modern industry. While we do not individually date every iceberg harvested, this age reflects the ancient glacial ice found in the region.

And when it comes to iceberg water, age is something worth celebrating. For thousands of years, this water remained frozen and naturally preserved within the ice. It is effectively frozen in time and protected from many of the influences of the modern world. Once harvested, the water is carefully handled and processed to meet today’s standards for quality and safety before it ever reaches a bottle of Berg.

What about the environment?

We make our living from nature, so we believe we have a responsibility to protect it. We recognize the very real impacts of climate change on our oceans, glaciers and northern environments, and we don’t take the extraordinary resource behind Berg for granted.

Our approach is to harvest responsibly while continually working to reduce the environmental footprint of our operations. From the way we source and package our water to how we operate our facility and move products to market, we are committed to finding practical ways to reduce our impact and investing in initiatives that support a more sustainable future.

We know there is always more work to do. Our commitment is to keep improving, be transparent about our progress, and ensure that as Berg grows, environmental responsibility grows with it.
